An interesting phone called the CVSCD-8500 is available on ChinaVasion (no, it’s not a typo). The phone features a 3-inch LCD touchscreen, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth, DVB-TV, digital camera which supports an optical zoom lens. The phone also comes bundled with a 512MB memory card, extra battery and earphones.

Google’s Android phone will be unveiled Sept. 23

T-Mobile plans to show off the first wireless phone powered by Google Inc.’s much-anticipated Android software system at a Sept. 23 news conference.Although T-Mobile intends to demonstrate the phone for reporters and analysts invited to next week’s event in New York, the handset isn’t expected to be available in stores until next month.

More specifics about the phone’s shipping date and pricing are still to come. T-Mobile is expected to subsidize part of the phone’s cost for buyers who agree to subscribe to the carrier’s mobile service.

The phone, made by HTC , has generated a big buzz because it will be the first to use Google’s Android software, which is supposed to make it easier and more enticing to surf the Internet on a handset.

Google is counting on the software, announced last November, to help sell more advertising by encouraging more people to use its Internet search engine and other services while they are away from the office or home.

Nujira to Enter Cellphone Market with $18m Funding

As if the cellphone market wasn’t already crowded enough, UK-based company Nujira has announced that they have secured upwards of $18m worth of funding to enter the cellphone market.

However, the company will not be producing the handsets themselves, instead focusing more on the innards, more specficially, what powers the devices.

Whatever Nujira brings to the market, lets hope it’s good, and even moreso, running Android!

HTC Touch Viva Is Official

The HTC Touch Viva looks very much like the younger brother of HTC’s just-announced HTC Touch 3G. The Touch Viva is probably aimed at the entry-level and mid-range markets, without losing too much in terms of features. You won’t have the full TouchFLO 3D experience; though a stripped-down version of it will help you navigate the phone. The Touch Viva should be out next month, and its features should include:

Qantas To Implement Boarding Via Mobile

Starting from early 2009, Qantas plans to implement a new online check-in option, which includes allowing users to receive a 2D barcode on their mobile phone which can be scanned at the gate. The goal is to allow customers to have a paperless experience, from booking, to check-in and boarding.
